POV hooks for personal finance videos

A money POV works when it names the moment rather than the lesson. The audience will accept advice from somebody who has clearly stood where they are standing.

  1. POV: you just realised the 3 pound coffee was never it, and the 400 rent rise was.

Why it works. Overturns the guilt the audience has been sold, using two numbers that sit side by side.

  2. POV: payday landed at 1am and you are already doing maths in the dark.

Why it works. An hour nobody films and everybody has lived. The darkness is the detail that makes it specific.

  3. POV: you opened the pension letter and the number was 4 times better than you feared.

Why it works. A rare good-news money POV, which stands out in a feed of disasters and gets saved for the explanation.

  4. POV: you have 6 days left and 11 pounds, and you are being very calm about it.

Why it works. The calm is the joke and the coping mechanism at once, which is why it reads as true.

  5. POV: your friend just suggested splitting the bill 4 ways and you had the salad.

Why it works. A universally recognised injustice, compressed into one sentence with a number in it.

  6. POV: you moved 50 into savings and your whole nervous system relaxed for 2 minutes.

Why it works. Names the physical relief rather than the financial effect, which is the honest reason people do it.

  7. POV: the app says you spent 2,300 on takeaways and you are deciding whether to believe it.

Why it works. The denial is the punchline. Most money content skips straight to the fix and loses this beat.

  8. POV: you are 34 and just found out what a pension actually is, in a car park.

Why it works. The setting makes it absurd and human. Learning something basic late is the fear this audience carries.

  9. POV: someone at work said their bonus was 9,000 and you are now recalculating your life.

Why it works. Comparison is the engine of money anxiety, and this names the exact second it starts.

  10. POV: you cancelled 5 subscriptions in 11 minutes and feel briefly, genuinely powerful.

Why it works. Two numbers make it a challenge the viewer can copy immediately, and 'briefly' keeps it honest.
