Mid-thought hooks for business videos
A mid-thought drop opens as if the viewer walked in on a conversation that was already happening. There is no greeting, no name, no setup — so there is nothing to skip. Ten written for business accounts:
...and that was the third client this month who asked for 30 percent off before we had started.
Why it works. Three seconds in there is already a number, a pattern and a grievance the viewer has lived. Nothing had to be explained first.
...so I told him the price was 4,000 and then said nothing at all for eleven seconds.
Why it works. The silence is the story. Counting the seconds makes it sound remembered rather than invented.
...which is when I found out my best seller had been losing me 4 dollars on every unit.
Why it works. A specific, small loss is more believable than a large one, and it lands as an accident rather than a lesson.
...anyway, that is how I ended up refunding a customer in a Tesco car park at 9 at night.
Why it works. One concrete place and one odd hour. The viewer stays because the middle of the story is missing.
...and she said it like it was normal: the whole business runs out of one WhatsApp thread.
Why it works. Names the tool the audience actually uses. 'Like it was normal' does the judging, so the line does not have to.
...so now I check the bank balance before I check anything else, every morning at 6.
Why it works. A ritual rather than an opinion. Habits are the most saved and reposted thing a business account can show.
...which is the exact moment I realised nobody on my team of 7 could explain what we sell.
Why it works. Turns positioning, an abstract problem, into a scene with a headcount attached to it.
...and he had been paying 89 a month for software he had not opened since March.
Why it works. Money leaving quietly is the most universal business pain there is. The month makes it specific.
...so yes, I fired my biggest client on a Tuesday and slept properly for the first time in 5 months.
Why it works. The contradiction arrives before any context. A weekday and a duration keep it from reading as a brag.
...and that is how a 40 dollar invoice turned into a three week argument with a lawyer.
Why it works. The gap between the amount and the consequence is the whole hook: small number, large fallout.
